This year has been marked by advancements in my work. I wish you all seasons greetings and that you enjoy holidays with those you love most. Watch out for the launch of my newsletter in 2026.
- The Civic Infrastructure Bond: Ombrello Solutions $250 million (CDN) issuance of a bond whose proceeds would be used to protect nature in perpetuity. I am living in Montreal to work closely with colleagues on this bond. I’m extremely grateful to the supporters of our work who have contributed for us to be at this point.
- Ivey Business School: I was the lead author of the Towards Sustainable Food Production report that was released in May 2025. The report has a Theory of Change that I co-developed describing how to transform Canada’s food production system to have better impacts for about diversity, for instance. We are currently working on the Collective Action Program for Regenerative Agriculture, where we are developing a community of practice with farmers at a county level.
- Natural Base Solutions: I worked with Gabino Carballo of Spain’s Natural Base Solutions on a project for MedCities. This was part of the Urban Regenerative Water Avant-garde(N) project that was co-funded by the European Union. We delivered training kits for Mediterranean municipal civil servants to have knowledge on how to implement nature-based solutions.
- Universidad Politécnica Madrid: I delivered a lecture on financial tools for nature for the Masters in historic gardens and ecosystem services for green infrastructure. (Máster en jardines históricos y servicios ecosistémicos de la infraestructura verde)
- L’Ordre des urbanistes du Québec: I was certified to work as an urban planner in Québec. I attended their annual conference in Drummondville in October 2025. I’m grateful for the welcome I have received from my peers in la belle province.
- Friends of Marita Payne Park: Our volunteer group received grants from Park People and the City of Vaughan. We expanded the food forest to include perennials to improve biodiversity. We also hosted a University of Toronto class led by Dr. Salim Kattar. We ran numerous events including a birding workshop and a bocce tournament. In 2026, we are looking for a nonprofit partner and to install a weather station.
- Automated Speed Enforcement: I advocated for the continuation of this effective means of protecting pedestrians and cyclists in Vaughan and the province of Ontario. It is an important way to protect the most vulnerable road users like seniors and children. In Vaughan, you can get involved in Vaughan with this group, who continue to advocate for road safety measures.
